Double Up Food Bucks Starting in June!

April 26, 2011

The Fair Food Network out of Ann Arbor has confirmed that the Douglass Farmers’ Market will be participating in the Double Up Food Bucks Program starting at our June market.  Here’s how it works: When a person eligible for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) uses his or her SNAP Bridge Card to shop for food at our market, the amount of money that he or she spends is matched with Double Up Food Bucks bonus tokens. The tokens can then be exchanged for Michigan-grown fruits and vegetables.  For more information, please visit  http://www.doubleupfoodbucks.org/.  Big thanks to Rachel Chadderdon and the rest of the Fair Food Network team for bringing this program to Kalamazoo!
